Basics of Breast Cancer Prevention- Part 2

To continue where we left off on Monday…

How to Aid your body in the Prevention of Breast Cancer:

Know what you are putting on your skin!

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body?!  Many people often forget this.  Everything we put on our skin gets quickly sucked up and absorbed into our blood stream.

Caring for your skin is caring for your entire body.

This is why it’s so important to know what is in the soaps, lotions, and make-up you are putting on your skin!

Dr. Mercola from Dr. suggests to not put anything on your skin that you wouldn’t be willing to eat.

You should be aware and knowledgeable of what you put on your skin.  I recommend only high quality natural ingredients!

Drink lots of properly filtered water

The guideline for knowing how much water you need to drink in a day is to divide your body weight in half, this is the number of ounces you should drink in a day.  Example:  150 lbs should drink 75 ounces of water a day!

How many of us actually do this?!

Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight.  Every system in our body depends on water.  Water helps flush toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and aids in digestion.

As you can see, water is one of the most important factors in maintaining a healthy life but it can also be the cause for disease.  This is why it’s so important to drink filtered water!  Studies have linked breast cancer to plastic water bottles because they contain BPA.

For water that is in a biodegradeable plastic bottle check out
The healthiest way to drink water on the go is to invest in a glass water bottle since there in no metal leakage (nickel from sinless steal or aluminum) and no BPA from plastic.  Glass is the cleanest way to go for our beverages.  Check out for great bottles!

Above are 2 Breast Cancer risk factors that we are in control of!  Show your body you love and support it by using natural products and drinking properly filtered water.  These acts of self-love can save your life.

Self Care and Thermography

Many of us are so busy with our every day lives that we don’t take time for ourselves.  But taking the time every day to care for your body and mind will make you feel good about yourself and will expand into every part of your life.

Through my blog, I have given you numerous little and easy things you can implement into your life to improve your health and well-being.

Green Tea

Skin Brushing

-Watching out for Inflammation

-And Thermography exams

We only have one body and need to treat it right.

I want to re-emphasize the importance of Thermography in self-care.

It has been drilled in many of our heads by countless doctors that every woman should get a mammogram every year after they turn 40.  What these doctors are not telling you is that mammograms are not as helpful or safe as you might think.

Mammograms expose you to approximately 1,000 times the amount of radiation you’d get in a chest X-ray.  This radiation is stored in your cells and accumulates to significant levels over time if you’re getting the annual mammogram.  Also, during a mammogram your breast are being compressed.  This can damage breast tissue and may even open cancerous tumors.

The American College of Physicians, the largest medical specialty group, recently questioned the benefit of mammograms.  They stated that the risks might outweigh the benefits.

These are pretty amazing and alarming findings.

I encourage you to also do your own research.  Find out your options and what is best for you health.  We have the power of choice.

Love your body and treat it well!

My Story

Dry brushing has become an important part of my self care.  As I brush my
skin, it reminds me of how grateful I am to be healthy and well.

If you are thinking “oh great, one more thing to do in my day”,  I would invite
you to think differently! Self care is meant to be enjoyed.  It is all in the way
you perceive it.  Look into your mind at your perception and ask how can
you view it differently?  How can your perception be different and serve
you well?

Gratitude is the fastest way to change your perception.
Practice gratitude in all of the little things that you do.  In time it
will become a natural state of mind and will support you in your daily
efforts with self care.

How to Properly Skin Brush

I suggest buying a Skin Brush that is made from natural, NOT synthetic, bristles.  It should also have a long handle so you can reach your back!

Skin Brushing should be performed once a day before you shower.

Begin brushing your skin in long sweeping strokes starting from the bottom of your feet upwards then move to the anklescalves, thighs, tummy, arms, and hands.

Make sure you brush down your armpit.  This is an important place because the lymphatic system is easily clogged there from wearing bras!

**Always brush towards the heart.

And avoid sensitive areas such as your face!

Next take a nice shower or bath and enjoy.

Once you get into the routine of skin brushing you’ll start to look forward and enjoy it!

Love your body.

Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing

One of the best ways to cleanse your entire lymphatic system is to brush the surface of your body with a vegetable bristle brush daily!

As I mentioned before, your skin is the primary sign of how your body is functioning.  When your internal body becomes toxic it will spread and show on your skin.

Daily Skin brushing helps

-stimulate blood and lymph flow

-exfoliate the skin

-and encourages new cell growth.

It is also a way for us to nurture our bodies.  Daily Skin Brushing helps us sneak a few minutes out of our busy days and focus on ourselves and our body.

Here at Thermography for Health NY we sell my favorite Dry Skin Brush- Purest Palm from Earth Therapeutics.

Dry Skin Brushing

Hey Guys!

Our body’s largest organ might surprise you– it’s your skin!  Your skin is also your largest elimination organ.

It eliminates about a quarter of the toxins from the body every day.  Problems with your skin are usually one of the first signs something is amiss with your body.   If something is wrong and your skin cannot efficiently release toxins you may experience rashes, acne, hives, itchiness, body odor, or even eczema and psoriasis.

dry skin brushing

One of the easiest (not to mention inexpensive!) ways you can help your skin with this detoxification process is incorporating dry skin brushing  into your daily routine.

Skin Brushing is another great way to show your body how much you love and appreciate it with self-care!

This week I will be teaching you about the benefits of skin brushing, how to properly do it, and sharing with you my favorite brand!
